I Want To Be Like Lois

2Ti 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A GRANDMOTHER?

The role of a Grandmother is to sing sweet songs, read cute stories, change diapers and rock the baby to sleep. Wait a minute, hold on....that's not exactly correct, it's o.k. to do those things, but there's more to being a Grandmother than that!

I'm new at the Grandmother business, but I can tell you I'm loving it! Emma was born January 14th. Even though we have a long distance relationship (across the ocean), Emma and I (Nanny) have developed quiet a bond even at this early date. Skype and the internet is a wonderful thing, thank you Lord for such blessings. How quickly this bundle of pink skin, blue eyes and giggles has completely stolen my heart and her Grandpa Randy's as well.

In II Timothy, Lois set an exemplary model for us to follow. You might think the mass of miles and the ocean between Emma and I might present a hinderance to me performing my God given responsibilities as a Grandmother. Next to my computer I have a stack of Bible story books I have already begun to read to Emma, she has heard "Jesus Loves Me", since she was only a few days old and other children's gospel songs and I have my Bible on the shelf just above by computer. It's my intention with God's grace to do every thing I can to introduce Emma to Jesus, the One who so wonderfully knit her inside her Mother's womb. Yes, I want to be like Lois, pray for me as I travel this new adventure in life as Emma's Grandmother and any other grand children God may give me in the future.

I would challenge every Grandmother to be more like Lois in II Timothy.

Getting Ready For The Teams

We had a team meeting, aka church, Sunday night at the training center. I caught Ene singing via signing.

These are a lot of the people who will be working with the teams this summer. Some of you may recognize Donnie who worked with Troy several years ago, he will be here for a month and is going to work with the team in Braila. The last two young lady's in this segment are Andrea (Larissa) and Iulia. They have been helping us a great deal especially since Mihai has been working out of town.

The Valley Again

Just a quick note to those who have been here. Today we were back in the Tabac family court yard, also known as Gabriel’s family. Iulia, who works for the Betesda Foundation, (boys and girls home), went there to start a women’s group. The visit went well, 6 that could read took part. Ruth, after the lesson was over I told Grandma Tabac about your troubles and she prayed for you too. It has been good to have extra help this week as Mihai is working out of town and Andrea Larissa has a big school project to take care of, which made Iulia worth her weight in gold. Keep praying, God is getting ready to do big things here.

Zone 15

The Taking of Zone 15
First Report

Within the last few months Troy has mapped out a new area in Galati, Zone 15(Z15). This is the first report I have written concerning the advance into its area on the north side of town.
Jud 1:23 Rescue any who need to be saved, as you would rescue someone from a fire.

Mihai and I have prayer walked this area in recent weeks on two different occasions, and Troy had been there once too. On all these trips there, we had went apparently unnoticed by the enemy. This week was different.
1Pe 5:8 Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Monday of this week Adriana, a young lady from Teresa’s group came by the house ready to get back to work after a long Easter break. She will be working with the children in Z15 when we start the rescue. She requested that we go there and prayer walk the area. She had a friend that she was hoping to get involved in Kingdom work but after a quick call found she was unavailable. Also Teresa had a language class scheduled for that afternoon so she could not go either. Adriana and I went anyway.
Pro 16:9 A person may plan his own journey, but the LORD directs his steps.

As we drove in the area, which looks a lot like a village in Moldova, we were greeted with the enemy at work in the form of drunkenness and strife.(Gal.5:20-21) I should have been prepared for such, after all it was a Holy Day here. We chose a different parking place. The time of prayer and observation was good, only interrupted by an opportunity to Share Jesus Without Fear.
1Pe 3:15 Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope.

I took Adrianna home and went by the house to pick up Teresa for a meeting we had that evening. On our return home we found we had missed a call from Peggy and she also sent a couple of emails asking me to call her. I did. She told me that her husband Kelly had lost his job today. I was not surprised, as news of the economy from the states sounds bad. Teresa had been experiencing attacks directed at her from home for some time. Her brother Victor was losing his fight with cancer when we left home for mission training. Since then she lost her nephew James and on the other side is Emma being born and not being able to hold her. The enemy knows where to shot. The armor of God in designed for offence not defense. Eph 6:10-18

Now it appears it is my turn. That is okay. That tells me Zone 15 is a place where God wants us to do battle. Pray that we are ready.

If You Love Me, You Will Love Others

I would like for you to meet Daniela, a twenty-one year old young lady who is a member of a Bible Study group that meets in my apartment each week. The group is made up of 8-10 young ladies. We started meeting about 8 months ago. Our first study was "I've Been Born Again, What Next". We just completed "John, Behold the Lamb". At our last meeting they decided the next study would be "Galatians, From Law to Grace".

I have been richly blessed to have the pleasure of watching these young ladies grow in the Lord throughout these studies. Their knowledge of the Bible has grown as well as their personal prayer life. Each of the girls have touched my life in their own individual ways.

There's more I want to share with you about Daniela. Daniela and her 3 sisters come from a broken home. Her 3 sisters are younger than her, at 21 years of age, Daniela has had to fill the parent role for several months now. She is the sole financial support they have with the exception of some money their Mother is able to send occasionally. Daniela must be the disciplinarian, which often causes some difficult situations and hard feelings between her and her sisters. She has had to grow up way too fast. It is such a blessing that all of them are born again believers.

I'm not sure at what age Daniela accepted Christ as her Savior. During these past months I've watched her love for the Lord change. Change how? Similar to the way Peter's love for Christ changed. We all know how Peter denied Christ 3 times. Even when Peter denied Him, Jesus loved him. Later Jesus questioned Peter if he loved him more than the other disciple did. Peter's answer was: "Yes, Lord you know that I am your friend." Jesus asked Peter the same question again, and once again Peter answered the same way, "Yes, Lord you know I am your friend." Peter's kind of love is "phileo", which means friendship. The third time Jesus asked Peter, do you love (agape) me? This is the kind of love Christ has for us. The kind of love that led him to the cross to die for us. Jesus accepted Peter's "phileo" love, but Christ led Peter to a deeper love for him, eventually Peter did die as a result for his love for Jesus Christ.

Daniela's love of Christ has grown from a flickering dimly lit candle to flaming fire. She has a heart full of love for her family, friends and others around her that know nothing about the "agape" love that Jesus has to offer. Daniela has stepped out in faith, following the leadership of God and formed her own group. There are about 10-12 people in her group and some of them are non-believers. I'm praying in that group there will be another "Daniela" that will come forward, step out in faith, become a leader, form another group, and win more souls to the Kingdom.
